Newsletter 19 - Dr. Dante's Reflection on 2025

What a Year!

By Dr. Dante Leone

This year has been a rollercoaster. At about this time last year, Matt and I were just in the early stages of starting Movement Redefined. We were excited for what the future might hold, but also terrified of the risks and uncertainty.

I thought starting a business would be the hardest challenge of 2025.

I'm a doer. I'm very organized and I love getting stuff done. With that comes a level of detail and planning. I try to predict and forecast what might happen to be prepared. I'm not a big fan of surprises.

When launching Movement Redefined we had a methodical plan. We had business coaching to guide us along the way. Step by step we worked the process. Checking off launching a website, networking, finding a location and building it out, transitioning from our other jobs, etc.

But, just like all of you, I'm human. We're human. Things happen that you never saw coming.

It was a lot of hard work, but everything was going relatively smoothly through the first half of the year. Movement Redefined was growing. Matt and I were both working full-time in the business. Kids wrapping up the school year, excited for summer. I competed in a triathlon, winning my age group!

Then in July, I had an unfortunate accident, running into a tree while playing a fun pick-up game of Civil War era baseball.

Fractured collarbone, laceration above my eye, ambulance ride to the hospital.

Fortunately, I was able to heal up enough in the next 5 weeks to go on a previously planned vacation with my family to Belize. We had the time of our lives. Snorkeling, zip-lining, cave tubing, hiking, and enjoying the water of the Caribbean. It was an amazing experience with my wife and kids!

Unfortunately, less than 48 hours after returning from Belize my older son, Leo, suffered a traumatic injury. He was just having fun. Playing with his brother, Avi. But he fell, fracturing both bones in his lower leg, with his tibia penetrating through his skin.

Ambulance to CHKD, a week in the hospital, 3 surgeries in 16 days.

Within this whole process with Leo, my collarbone was not healing correctly, so I decided to have surgery to repair it. This restarted a healing process and rehabilitation. Something I'm continuing to work on today, more than 5 months after the initial injury. Everything is getting better, but progress is usually never as fast as you want it to be.

It might be easy to say, "I can't wait for this year to be over. 2026 has to be better." But as I reflect on this year, there are so many amazing things that happened. There are life lessons that I will take with me forward into the years ahead. There is a whole tribe in my life that has given me support throughout all the ups and downs.

I tell you these things not to say, "woe is me, life is so hard," but to appreciate life is always challenging. There are always going to be things that happen no matter how much you prepare. But life is also beautiful and rewarding. It's all about how you choose to respond when things happen. It's about the people that you surround yourself with for when adversity strikes. It's about going through the suck to appreciate the good.

I'm so grateful for this year. I'm grateful for my beautiful family. I'm grateful for some extraordinary friends. I'm grateful for my partnership with Matt. I am grateful for all of you for reading this and supporting Movement Redefined.

I'm choosing to put love out in the world during a demanding year, because I believe that will bring love back to me when I need it. I'm choosing to keep putting in the hard work to make myself better, because I believe this will also make those around me better. I'm choosing to make the most out of hard times because life is more fun that way.

Cheers to an unexpected journey in 2025. Cheers to 2026 and the surprises it will bring!

Give the Gift of Living Fully!

Our first year has been unbelievable. We are so thankful to you for that success. One year ago we had a name and an idea. No clients, no location, no website, no business.

Fast forward to today, it has been absolutely amazing for us to take that idea, and with your help, see the growth of Movement Redefined. To show our appreciation for all your support we wanted to give our members a unique gift. Not just something with a logo on it that will sit on a shelf, but something meaningful.

We're excited to give all our clients a special gift certificate to share with someone you love—someone who could truly benefit from a life-changing experience.

This certificate can be redeemed for a Comprehensive Performance Assessment so they can discover the Movement Redefined difference for themselves. We believe that Living Fully is one of the greatest gifts there is, and we want to help as many people as possible experience it.

Pick up your gift certificate the next time you're in the gym. Have more friends or family you think we can support? Additional certificates are available at a 20% discount.

We wish you the merriest of holiday seasons!

Reflecting on 2025 By Matt Campbell With the end of the year approaching, Dante and I had been planning the final month of newsletters and as many do, we were discussing a year-in-review style message. For anyone the end of the year can be a time to pause and reflect. Whether reflecting on personal or professional life, recounting the year often highlights memorable events, wins and achievements, but can also include challenges and even losses during that time. 365 days. It’s a lot. But it...

Making My Comeback By Dr. Dante Leone It's been some tough months for me physically recently. I'm used to moving my body and pushing myself with exercise. The last few years that has included participating in triathlons, which if you're not familiar, is a race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running. However, that all changed on July 5. If you have been a longtime reader of our newsletters, you know that I had an injury that involved fracturing my collarbone that day. You don't realize...

Out of the Park Achievement By Matt Campbell I’m the proudest Dad in the world right now. My 15 year old daughter Mackenzie just hit a HOMERUN. Her first ever. And a real one. Not an in-the-park one. You know the ones from little league where if you just run fast enough or the other team makes enough throwing errors you can get around to home before a play is made. Mac is so fast she has countless numbers of those on her resume. No, I'm talking about the kind that every kid dreams of. The...
